Our Story
From South India,
to Keswick.
Twenty years of Lake District hospitality — and one home, finally found.
The Journey
Two decades, three kitchens,
one destination.
Beginning
South India where the love for hospitality started — kitchens full of family, spice, and noise.
2006
Ambleside arrived in the Lake District on what was meant to be a short stay, and never left.
Today
Bagheera in the Lakes home, in Keswick — George and Meera's, run their way.
“Every plate that leaves this kitchen carries twenty years of learning how to make people feel at home.”
George & Meera Cherian
Bagheera isn't a taste of somewhere else. It's South Indian cooking, run the way George and Meera learned hospitality in Cumbria — warm, unhurried, and paying close attention.
Kitchen
Recipes carried from home, cooked with the same care George and Meera learned running kitchens across the Lakes.
Warmth
Twenty years of Cumbrian hospitality means knowing regulars by name and treating first-timers the same way.
Home
Keswick is where the journey settled. Every table at Bagheera is set the way George and Meera would set their own.
